Founded in 2013 by Tim Miller and Robert Petrarca, Maxine's Heavenly makes homemade-style cookies that are low-sugar, vegan, and gluten-free. Tim, who wanted to create a healthier alternative to traditional cookies, started with his mother Maxine's beloved recipe. Then he substituted ingredients one by one, taking out the processed flours, processed sugars, gluten, animal products and, with them, all of the empty calories. He replaced each one with better-for-you alternatives that preserved that special taste while making the cookie nutrient-rich and guilt-free.
