SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older people. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources to LGBTQ+ older people and their caregivers. SAGE also advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBTQ+ elders, provides education and technical assistance for aging providers and LGBTQ+ community organizations through its National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging, and cultural competency training through SAGECare.

Bren Cole is Director of Marketing and Communications at SAGE. Prior to joining SAGE, Bren was Communications Manager at LGBTQ+ community health center, Fenway Health. She is passionate about LGBTQ+ community building, cats, and all things spooky.

VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON SERVICES

SAGE offers a variety of services and programs tailored to the LGBTQ+ elder community. Through the SAGEServes program, they provide community programming and care management in New York City and Florida. The National LGBTQ+ Housing Initiative advocates for equitable housing and provides support for LGBTQ+ elders nationwide. Research and education efforts are driven by the National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging, which works to improve resources and information for aging LGBTQ+ individuals. SAGECare delivers cultural competency training for organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community, while the SAGECents app offers financial wellness education designed to support LGBTQ+ financial health.

All services are virtual besides SAGEServes and SAGECare.
