Mil Mundos Books emerged in 2018 as a response to the evolving landscape of Bushwick, NYC. Amidst ongoing gentrification, this unique bookstore symbolizes accessibility and empowerment for the local community. They offer a diverse selection of books in both English and Spanish, celebrate cultural diversity, and organize events that nurture a strong sense of belonging.
Beyond their bookstore, their non-profit branch, Mil Mundos En Común, tirelessly addresses gentrification and champions autonomy for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities. Mil Mundos Books is more than a mere establishment; it passionately advocates for preserving the neighborhood's rich heritage while fostering inclusivity and communication within its walls and far beyond.
