Under the Umbrella Bookstore
Located in Salt Lake City, Under the Umbrella Bookstore is a safe space for queer narratives and diverse literary explorations. This unique bookstore, the only one in the city specifically tailored for the queer community, provides an expansive selection that spans all genres and caters to every age group. From current and classic fiction to nonfiction, poetry, graphic novels, and beyond, each book resonates with queer content or is crafted by a queer author. Significantly, the store showcases rare gems from small presses and self-published queer authors that remain elusive in mainstream bookstores.
Under the Umbrella serves as a sanctuary for the queer community, emphasizing voices from marginalized queer identities, such as Black and Indigenous queers and two-spirit individuals. The establishment's reach extends beyond literature, featuring products from queer-owned businesses and artists and hosting community-driven events.
