Greater Good Events (GGE) is a women-owned full-service event planning, design, and production company for the socially conscious consumer. We take pride in producing events that make a strong, positive impact on guests while minimizing their negative impact on local communities and environments. Our portfolio of clients ranges from small grassroots organizations to large corporate partners. GGE is run by Portland-based Justine Broughal (she/her) and Queens-based Maryam Shariat Mudrick (she/her). This bi-coastal duo brings a depth of experience in community organizing and social justice spaces to their detailed-oriented event planning work. Looking for wedding services? Our sister company, Together Events, provides wedding planning services, including full-service wedding planning, partial wedding planning, conscious coordination, and decor design and planning.

  • Description: We are committed to helping each event reach its fullest potential while fostering a sense of service and greater good. We do this with a focus on intersectional sustainability—striving to work with vendors who seek to reduce their lasting impact on the environment while making a strong impact in uplifting communities; with clients who are looking for a stress-less approach to planning and seek to advance liberation and dignity for all; with vendors who believe, like us, that leaving things a little better than we found them is a required part of any definition of success. We take pride in infusing our creativity, love of spreadsheets, and penchant for exceptional experiences with thoughtful, un-fussy, and eco-conscious execution.

    Offerings include one-day meetings, multi-day gatherings, fundraising events and galas, celebrations and holiday parties, team building, and social impact.

Justine (she/her) is a passionate community builder, event planner, and designer. As Co-Owner of Greater Good Events, she ensures every event is unique, inclusive, and memorable, helping clients achieve meaningful impact. Justine began her career in local politics and honed her skills in nonprofit spaces, planning national and international events. She is committed to ethical vendor sourcing, minimizing waste, and providing inclusive service for all clients.

Maryam (she/her), Co-Owner at Greater Good Events, brings over 20 years of experience in creative consulting, social impact, and event planning. She has worked across state and continental lines to design and deliver unique and thoughtful weddings, galas, conferences, and experiences. With an eye for sustainable design and the handmade, Maryam is always striving to incorporate meaningful and personalized elements to experiences without increasing costs or complexity.
